Each search engine has its own method of ranking. To be properly indexed on
search engines follow these tips:
- Give each web page on your site a relevant title with keywords describing
the content of that page. Enter those keywords in the <TITLE> html tag.
Those words are what a browser will display in its title bar. Generally don't
put more that 10 words there.
- Use <META> tags. The provide additional info to search engines to
better index your site. You add them between the <HEAD> tags. For example:
<META name="description" content="Describe your web site
in a phrase or sentence">
<META name="keywords"content="keywords, short phrases, that,
describe, your site">
- Don't spam search engines by repeating keywords many times in the above
tags or use keyword not relevant to your site. If you do so, most search engines
will just exclude your site.
